Ben Carson's Prayer, Miracle & Subsequent Action.

“God, You pulled off a miracle," I told Him as I left the classroom. "And I make a promise to You that I'll never put You into that situation again."
The quote above is credited to Dr Ben Carson, a Christian, also an American retired surgeon, author, and politician. He was the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, a former U.S Presidential aspirant under the Republican party and is the 17th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. in President Donald Trump’s cabinet. If you have read his book or seen the movie, ‘Gifted Hands’ you will remember the story he told of how God miraculously delivered him from failing a Chemistry test in Premed program which would have dashed his dream of becoming a Medical Doctor. I urge you to get a copy of the book if you have not read it to get to full story, or a review of it here, so that you will understand the context from which I am writing this piece.
My take away lesson from the story is the quote above which many who know the story do not really emphasize; rather they stop at how God helped him pass the exam and full stop, story ends. But for me I believe that we should emphasize the statement above more because that is what we are supposed to do most times when God miraculously pulls us out of dangerous, life and career threatening situations that we find ourselves sometimes.
With respect to our finances, some of us can truthfully attest that we could have been better off than we are today financially but for some careless life styles and habits that we subscribed to in our past years. We have experienced or will know of an or some example(s) of people who have been privileged to have handled and accessed very huge sums of money or inherited investments earlier on in life but are virtually feeding from hand to mouth today and have at some points needed a serious miracle to survive. Whatever the reason for losing such opportunities to better your future is not my focus today, the issue is what you are doing to ensure that you get out of that financially embarrassing situation and the decision you are taking to ensure that you won’t have to run back to God again for a miracle of that sort (a problem that you brought on yourself due to your actions or inactions).
Read the first paragraph again, Ben Carson understood and told himself the plain truth that he brought himself to that point of needing a miracle from God due to his negligence, but after that, he made up his mind and made a promise to God that such will never happen to him again, and most importantly, he worked it out. He never rationalized it or tried to look for who to blame for finding himself in that predicament. He understood that for whatever reason he found himself in that ugly situation then, he was the sole cause. He did what most people today have refused to do, and that is owning up to their faults and mistakes, which has made them still susceptible to the same issues time and over again.
Have you realized the reason for which things are not adding up financially for you? Are you still blaming others for your current situation? Excuse me, it’s your fault!
Take responsibility for your life for once, sit down and take a serious assessment of your life financially, make up your mind to change, ask God for forgiveness, promise God to change and mean it, ask him for help and wisdom for what to do get up and get it done. I see your story changing financially.
