Financial Tip from the Bus stop - 1
I am privileged to serve with an organization that provides free transportation for its staff to and from their office locations. The staff bus that is attached to my own location goes past my own bus stop by 6:00 am every working day (Monday - Saturday) to pick a colleague living some kilometers away from me after which it follows the same route back to pick me and others ( whose bus stop is few poles away from mine) at 6:20 am.
On 16th December 2016, something happened.I got to my bus stop 6:11 am and started waiting for the bus to arrive. While I waited, I was reading the book of Proverbs on my phone and periodically looking down the road by my left to see if the bus was coming. Around 6:16 am, the bus sped past me unusually from the right and raced towards the direction of the other colleague that lived further down the road, I got the point; the bus was late in coming and was rushing to meet up with our 7:00 am resumption time. After that small incident, I relaxed and continued with my reading while I waited, knowing that the bus will take a little more time than usual before it finally gets back to pick us up.
By 6:27 am, another colleague, carrying the other people(in his personal car) who lived few poles away from me drove past me and headed right, which is the direction that leads to the office. Two minutes later, by 6:29 am, the bus finally arrived,I entered, and we moved towards the office direction.
As we moved on, while stopping at the other points to pick up the rest of the staff, I tried to think around the incident and draw some lessons out of it.
Do you think that this has anything to do with Christian Financial Management?
To be continued. . .
